The AMP Statistics Program Welcomes their First Student into the Program Starting Fall 2024

Oregon State University has launched an Accelerated Master’s Platform (AMP) in Statistics, offering a unique opportunity for undergraduate students to fast-track their education and earn both a bachelor's degree in Mathematics or Biological Data Science, and master's degree in Statistics in an efficient and streamlined manner.

The AMP Statistics program is pleased to announce they have welcomed their first student into the program starting this fall. Matthew Taylor is a student coming from the biological data science (BDS) program, “It was during my first term at Oregon State that I realized I wanted to pursue statistics. At the time, I was a biology major, but I enjoyed data analysis so much that I switched to the BDS program. The BDS program has allowed me to preserve my interest in living systems, while also providing me with education in quantitative skills relevant to many other subjects. Now, going into my fourth year (and first year of the AMP program), I am very excited to begin my graduate studies. The program will help me develop the skills required to be a competitive statistician and will save me an entire year in terms of time and cost of attendance. I hope that anyone interested in statistics who is eager to enter the professional world will check out the program.”
