Performing undergraduate research is one of the very best ways to make the most out of your college experience. It will empower you to take the tools you learn in the classroom and apply them to real-world problems, all while building invaluable mentoring relationships with faculty in a professional setting.

The College of Science offers several funding opportunities for students interested in research. Students interested in working with statistics faculty should reach out by email to discuss a potential project.

Summer Undergraduate Research Experience

The College of Science offers scholarship support through Summer Undergraduate Research Experience (SURE), where students gain a stimulating research experience that enhances their academic experience. SURE Science helps students take on an active role in research, build connections by working alongside scientists and researchers, and provides hands-on learning experiences.

Undergraduate Research, Scholarship and the Arts (URSA)

The URSA Engage program provides funding for undergraduate students to work alongside statistics faculty on statistical research projects. URSA Engage is designed to establish mentoring relationships for undergraduates early in their academic programs at OSU and provide students opportunities to pursue research under the guidance of an OSU faculty member.

Explore research with an Honors College thesis

The University Honors College (UHC) provides challenging curricula and enhanced learning experiences in general education, as well as statistics, mathematics and other sciences. The UHC offers smaller courses taught by OSU's finest faculty and students completing the program conduct research as part of their Honors Thesis.
