A graduate minor is an excellent way for students with expertise in a different field to gain foundational training in statistics. Our program is designed to broaden employment and career opportunities for students in industry and research.

Meet your advisor
The Graduate School requires students wishing to obtain a statistics M.S. or Ph.D. minor to find a member of the statistics graduate faculty willing to serve on their graduate committee. This minor member will advise them on elective course selection. To identify a potential minor advisor, peruse faculty research interests for a professor compatible with your research. Contact that person to request committee membership. Alternatively, you might ask a professor of a statistics class you have taken.
Academics
Getting a minor in our department means that you will have access to all the same courses and instructional faculty that statistics graduate students receive. See our schedule of when courses are offered, or review the curriculum.
